The Caguana and Ángeles barrios of Utuado are rich in the indigenous history of Borikén. Here is where we find the Caguana Indigenous ceremonial Center, the most monumental of its kind anywhere in the Caribbean islands from the taíno era. Bordering the site is the Tanama river, famous for its seven tunnels and arches which it runs through. On this new version of the Taíno Route, after visiting the Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Center, we go on hike through the forest to visit the famous Cueva Del Arco in the Tanama river. Join us on this adventure into the indigenous past of Borikén.

Best Beaches of Borikén Experience: The East
East Side
Come with us to experience some of Borikén´s best beaches on the eastern side of the island. In this experience we visit three coastal towns, Loíza, Luquillo and Fajardo. In Loíza we stop at La posita del terraplén, Vacía Talega. In Luquillo the Montserrat Balneario and Seven Seas in Fajardo. We have lunch in the kiosk at Luquillo and visit all three urban centers and their plazas. Apart from visiting these emblematic beaches, we dive deep into the mounting coastal erosion problems caused by climate change and the rising sea levels. You will see firsthand the effects of erosion on the beaches and how unregulated construction on the coast exacerbates the situation.
